Biography Kawatsura, Yoshio (1880 - 1963)

Kawatsura Yoshio (川面義雄) is also known by his artist's name Negoro Raizan. We know that Bob Muller had 18 prints by him in his collection, and that these prints were published by Yoshikawa Kôbunkan in Tokyo in 1922 (see The New Wave, p. 167). It seems probable that the publishing house fell victim to the Tokyo earthquake of 1 September 1923.
At any rate his prints are pretty rare and are quite different than the ones by Hasui produced around the same time.
