Biography Brown, Pieter Irwin (1903 - ?)

In 1921 Pieter Irwin Brown, of mixed Dutch-Irish descent, enrolled at The Royal Academy in Amsterdam, where he studied for three years. Thereafter he embarked upon years of travel, only interrupted by a period in which he designed posters together with Rickman Ralph. In 1934 he went to Japan, where he designed a limited number of prints for Watanabe Sh˘zabur˘. He also travelled to China, Korea and other countries. What happened to him after WWII is unknown, as is the date of his death.
