Biography Inagaki, Tomoo 稲垣 知雄 (1902 - 1980)

From 1923 Inagaki Tomoo studied woodblock making and printing with Onchi K˘shir˘ and Hiratsuka Un'ichi, after he had a print accepted in their magazine Poems and Hanga, and as early as 1924 he started exhibiting with most current woodblock groups, Nihon Hanga Ky˘kai among them, and published in the major magazines (Hanga a.o.). From the 1920s also a number of small paintings by him are known.
After WWII he limited the scope of his work and concentrated on stylized and highly successful prints of cats.
