Biography Oda, Tomiya 小田 富弥 (1895 - 1990)
Oda Tomiya was born in Okayama. Oda was his mother's name, his real name being Ônishi Ichitarô. He studied Nihonga (Japanese-style painting) with Kitano Tsunetomi (1880-1947). During the Taishô period he worked as a magazine illustrator and as an illustrator of popular novels. He also made woodblock prints of beauties, both full-length and okubi-e, which were published by the Osaka Mokuhan-sha and the Hakuyô-sha.
