Literature: | The box is dated Meiji 1 (1868); the outside of the lid reads: setsuki sansui no zu - Tani Bunch hitsu, the inside gives the date and the signature Gako sanjin dai. Gako Suzuki (鵞湖鈴木 - 1816-1870) was one of Tani Bunch's pupils, and he has authenticated this painting. |
