Okamoto, Taiko (1872 - 1945)
Yokugo no bijin (浴後の美人) Beauty after bathPaper size: 18.1 x 39.2 cm.
Dated by the Japanese dealer “Taishō-goro” (circa Taisho period). An extremely rare print by a virtually unknown print artist. The painting that preceded the woodblock print had the title “Hot spring inn” (温泉のやど) and was exhibited at the 8th Bunten (第8回文部省美術展覧会出品作品); it is now in the collection of the Tokyo National Museum.

Fine impression and colours, good condition: some light insect damage just above the balustrade, and a few other places; remnants of backing paper verso.
