Takeda Yoshihei (1892 - 1989)

Yabakei (耶馬渓) – Yabakei Valley (Oita Prefecture), part of the hand-dug tunnel. According to legend this 342 metres long tunnel was dug by the monk Zenkai with only a chisel and mallet, which took him 30 years, starting in 1734.
Paper size: 41.3 x 32 cm. Self-printed ca. 1940. A smaller, reworked version of this design was published in February 1940 as part of the series One Hundred New Views of Japan.

Euro 1375

Fine impression, colours and condition. Look at the printing quality: this is what Sōsaku Hanga is all about.
