Kawakami, Sumio (1895 - 1972)

Wasedadaigaku Ōsumi kinen dai kōdō (早稲田大学大隅記念大講堂 ) - Waseda University Osumi memorial auditorium
Paper size: 26.6 x 20.8 cm. Number 3 from an edition of 50, published by Nakajima Jūtarō in May 1930, as part of the series One Hundred Views of New Tokyo – Shin Tokyo hyakkei. With the original folder (detail 1) showing the title slip of the series plus a red stamp giving the title of the print, plus artist’s name. Shin Tokyo hyakkei is undoubtedly the best pre-war series of Sōsaku Hanga, with contributions by the ten leading artists of the period.
