Ono, Tadashige (1909 - 1990)

Hanga no Seishun (版画の青春) Springtime of Prints by Ono Tadashige (1909-1990), 285 pp., published in Tokyo in 1978. Number 9 from a limited edition of 300 copies.
Not only does this book illustrate the development of early Sōsaku Hanga very well (numerous illustrations, mostly b/w), but also included are two woodblock prints by Azechi Umetarō and Yamaguchi Susumu, both numbered 9/30, and both signed in pencil. Size of both prints is 30.8 x 28.7 cm.
The two prints are in a separate folder, book and folder are in a sturdy cardboard box. Text entirely in Japanese, fine overall, unused condition. RARE
