Yamamoto, Kanae (1882 - 1946)

Paper size 27.3 x 31.8 cm. One of the memorial edition of forty prints printed by Hashimoto Okiie (1899-1983) in 1960 from the original block. The block was gathering dust in the house of Ishii Hakutei, where a few trial prints had been made in 1904, before the block was used for the magazine in which the print was published. The block was re-discovered by Ishii Tsuruzō, Hakutei's younger brother. There was only a single block, front and back were used.

Fine impression and colours, good condition: twelve pinholes (three inside the image) expertly filled and only visible when the print is held against the light. Otherwise a fresh copy.
