Paper size: 25 x 37.2 cm. Dated 1960, so probably a memorial portrait. Signed and dated in pencil by the artist, printed by "M. Yoneda", whose name is blindprinted in the bottom margin.
Some information about Dr Kagawa: "Toyohiko Kagawa (1888-1960) chose to live in the slums of Tokyo. When defeat came to Japan after the terrible war, the Prime Minister sent for Kagawa and said, "It is not our bodies that need help, it's our minds - our spirits. Dr Kagawa, you must help to put the spirit of Jesus into the hearts of our people. You must teach us how to love our enemies!" "
