Yoshitaki, Utagawa (1841 - 1899)
The bandit Kidômaru approaching the courtier Fujiwara no Yasumasa (958-1036). Print size: 35.9 x 24.6 cm. Published ca. 1880.

Fine impression and colours, very good condition: minute pinholes in the corners, oxydized metallic pigments, strong blindprinting.
This very striking print was made around the time of Yoshitoshi's "flute-player triptych". Unlike Yoshitoshi Yoshitaki put the bandit in the foreground. Obviously one of the best works in Yoshitaki's oeuvre.
