Tashiro Hikaru (田代光) was well known as an oil painter and illustrator of modern fiction, especially the genre published in newspapers and magazines. He studied at the Taiheiyo (Pacific) Art School, then entered the Kumaoka Kaiga Dojo (Painting School). He studied under Ishii Hakutei Ishii a.o.
