Biography Konen, Uehara (1878 - 1940)

Konen Uehara studied painting with Kajita Hanko (1870-1917) and Matsumoto Fûko (1840-1923). His first woodblock prints were made for Kobayashi Bunshichi (1864-1923), who died shortly after the 1923 earthquake, which also destroyed his shop. Then Konen started working for Watanabe, for whom he made more prints.
