Biography Hasegawa, Tomisaburô (1910 - 2004)

Born in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture, Hasegawa Tomisaburô graduated at Tottori Normal School in 1936. He studied with Kawai Kanjirô and Munakata Shikô. He was a member of the Kokugakai (National Picture Organisation) and the Banga-in (which changed its name to Nihon Hanga-in - Japanese Woodblock Print Academy in 1984), which was founded by Munakata Shikô in 1952. Hasegawa Tomisaburô participated in its first exhibition in that same year. He had many solo shows in Kobe, Osaka, Hiroshima and Nagoya a.o..
