Biography Tsukamoto, Tetsu (1901 - 1980)

Tetsu Tsukamoto can best be described as a part-time hanga artist. He was a professor of sociology, and also worked as a consultant to the Japanese government and the television industry. He was taught moku-hanga by Kanenori Suwa (who died as early as 1932). He was a member of the Nihon Hanga Kyôkai, and contributed to the two print series Kitsutsuki hangashû in 1942 and 1943, and to three of the print sets published by the First Thursday Society (Ichimokushû).
