Biography Brown, Pieter Irwin (1903 - ?)
In 1921 Pieter Irwin Brown, of mixed Dutch-Irish descent, enrolled at The Royal Academy in Amsterdam, where he studied for three years. Thereafter he embarked upon years of travel, only interrupted by a period in which he designed posters together with Rickman Ralph. In 1934 he went to Japan, where he designed a limited number of prints for Watanabe Shôzaburô. He also travelled to China, Korea and other countries. What happened to him after WWII is unknown, as is the date of his death.
