Biography Suwa, Kanenori (1897 - 1932)

Until his untimely death from appendicitis in 1932 Kanenori Suwa was an artist of great promise: he started exhibiting with the Nihon Sôsaku-Hanga Kyôkai in 1921, and contributed works to all the major Hanga groups and exhibitions. In 1929 he contributed 12 works to the very important series One hundred views of new Tokyo - Shin Tokyo hyakkei. Shortly after his death, in 1932, his works were shown posthumously at the second Nihon Hanga Kyôkai exhibition.
