Biography Ikeda, Eiji (1889 - 1950)
Born in Kyoto, Ikeda Eiji was taught wood engraving by his father. Subsequently he studied painting at the Taiheiyôgakai, an artists' association of Western-style painters. One of his teachers was Ishii Hakutei He exhibited oil paintings at the Bunten and Teiten, and later taught at the Taiheiyôgakai. His output of Sôsaku Hanga was limited.
