Biography Mitsusada, Fujiwara 光貞 藤原 (1738 - 1806)

Also known as Mitsusada Tosa, Mitsusada was the second son of Tosa Tômanmaru Mitsuyoshi. In 1754 he became Edokoro azukari (Court painter). In the 1760 he painted fusuma (sliding doors) for the court, and in 1789, when the Kyoto Imperial Palace was remodelled, he again painted fusuma.He was a highly esteemed painter and is generally considered to have revived the Tosa school of painting.
