ÅŒhira, Kasen (1913 - 1983)

Kaishi (懐紙) - Tissue paper
Paper size: 29 x 41.8 cm. From the series Adesugata nijushiko – 24 figures of charming women, published by Shinbisha ca, 1931. Signed and sealed “Kasen”. Both the title and the the girl’s pose suggest an erotic context, which may account for the suggestion that this series was discontinued and never finished.

Fine impression and colours, good/very good condition: some surface dirt (which cannot be removed because of the fugitive nature of the red pigment), and browning of the back because of an acid mat (which cannot be cleaned for the same reason – see detail 1).
